The 9th edition of Talkfest - International Music Festivals Forum, which includes the Iberian Festival Awards gala was postponed due to the crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and will be held between the 16th and 17th of October, mostly online. Today, we present the themes for the Conferences (adjusted to the current situation) and the first 15 speakers - from different countries and functional areas of the Culture and Festivals industry.

This annual meeting cannot fail to be held and will be adapted to the present and proposing to discuss everything that the area of festivals and events has been forced to review. It has been several months since everything has changed and if from the beginning we set out to discuss “the future” this action is even more urgent today. We want to bring together the industry in Portugal, Spain and all Portuguese-speaking countries with this virtual and online version, with no maximum capacity of participants limitations.

Over the next few weeks, more news will be announced: speakers, artists and entities present in all sections of the event.

The 9th edition of the Talkfest - International Music Festivals Forum, which includes the gala of the Iberian Festival Awards, postponed due to the crisis caused by the pandemic Covid-19 confirms the date of 16 and 17 October being held mostly online, thus anticipating a need already felt for an increasingly global event.

In the course of the current pandemic situation, this year's edition of Talkest will be almost entirely online, seeking to transport the entire experience of the event into this format.

This unique event, at the Iberian level, connects the entire industry directly and indirectly associated with music festivals (eg. promoters, artists, agents, service providers, sponsors, government entities and students) since 2012 and aims to increase networking, business in this format and exposure of the brands that will be activated in this event.

All the delegates, speakers, bands and partners that will participate on the event will have a virtual environment activated and an increased and valued new experience:

Easy access to all rooms with simultaneous programme (there will be an adaptation of the programme initially planned for March) and easy access and interaction with all the speakers. There will be a Studio with physical presence of experts specifically for interviews;Networking: easy access to meeting, conversations and contacts with all present;Welcome bag (virtual): promotions, certificate of participation and satisfaction questionnaire. Aporfest - Associação Portuguesa de Festivais de Música, the entity responsible of the Talkfest - International Music Festivals Forum and Iberian Festival Awards, announces that, after a careful risk assessment, taking into account the expected evolution of the epidemic in the context of COVID19 in Portugal and the indications of the DGS-Direção Geral da Saúde decided to postpone the event to 15th to 17th October.

In this exceptional situation of uncertainty, the Aporfest management team decided that it would be more prudent to postpone the event, in order to protect not only the public from its events, but also all partners, sponsors and also the work teams.

The tickets purchased are valid for the event to be held from 15th to 17th October, and there will be an update of them on a date closer to the same. In case you want to return it, this must be done through the means used to purchase the ticket, from March 16th to April 15th, 2020.

Talkfest 2020 was scheduled to occur in parallel with BTL - Bolsa de Turismo de Lisboa, which given its size and the restraint that is being applied to some large events, was postponed to May 2020. Because of the fact that Talkfest is a professional event on a lower scale, we intend to keep it on March 13th and the 5th edition of the Iberian Festival Awards on March 14th.

To ensure that this edition takes place in the best possible conditions, Talkfest will be held at ISCTE (on March 13th) and the Iberian Festival Awards in the SUSPENSO concert hall (on March 14th).

Most of the participants in Talkfest are professionals in the field of events and festivals, mostly from Portugal and some from Spain, and given their genesis, they will be informed about the social measures that should be taken, so that everything runs smoothly and can benefit from all the programme we have prepared for this edition.

We do not expect cancellations by any of the participants in this edition and we continue to work to make it another unforgettable edition of Talkfest, within the normal limits.

The complete programme and schedules are kept adjusted to the technical and logistical characteristics of the new spaces. PREVENTION AND ACTION PLAN Aporfest - Associação Portuguesa Festivais de Música is attentive and in contact with the Direção Geral da Saúde and the Associação Portuguesa de Epidemiologia, following all its indications, so that the well-being of all those involved in the event is preserved in because of the Coronavirus issue.

Thus, the following precautions will be taken:

The spaces where Talkfest will take place will often be airy;Alcohol dispensers will be available at the entrance, in addition to the existence of bathrooms so that it is possible to can perform the hygiene that is recommended;A specific room will be reserved, at ISCTE-IUL, for comfort or to avoid any situation that may exist and allow adequate isolation.

During the event, we ask all participants to take care to:

Wash hands frequently with soap and water, rubbing them well for at least 20 seconds, especially before and after preparing food, before meals, after using the bathroom and whenever feels hands dirty;Alternatively, use an alcohol-based solution for hand hygiene;Use single-use handkerchiefs for blowing and throw the used handkerchiefs in a waste bin, washing hands immediately;Cough or sneeze into the arm with the elbow flexed, not the hands;Avoid touching the eyes, nose and mouth with hands that are dirty or contaminated with respiratory secretions.

The 9th edition of Talkfest - International Music Festivals Forum will take place mainly in Lisboa, in parallel and in partnership with BTL – Bolsa de Turismo de Lisboa, between March 11 and 15, 2020. The Iberian Festival Awards gala, included in its programme will take place in the Grande Auditório FIL on March 14.
