Talkfest - International Music Festivals Forum will happen for the 5th time in Lisboa in March (3 and 4) at the Meeting Center of FIL International Fair of Lisbon. It will have 7 sections: conferences, presentations (professional and scientific), seminars, documentaries, concerts, job fair and also the 1st edition of the Iberian Festival Awards. Talkfest’16 will have more than 70 programming topics.
Roberta Medina (Rock in Rio executive vice-president) will participate at Talkfest special conference that will happen on the BTL – International Tourism of Lisbon Auditorium with the theme "The importance of music festivals for Tourism in Portugal”. This conference will also have the presence of many personalities related with the government and public institutions to be announced soon.
Scott Witters (CEO Glownet); Miguel Garcia (CEO Charco); Pedro Martinez (CEO Glaciar Musica); Felipe Gomes (Sponsorship Manager Heineken); Gonçalo Madaíl (director RTP Inovação e Memória); Pedro Moreira Dias (radio host Vodafone FM) and the moderator Cláudia Lima Carvalho (journalist Público) are the other news on this Talkfest section. Already confirmed 30 national and international names that will be present on the 8 conferences with several themes: dependency of Festivals - taxes, licenses Vs. public funding, sponsorship and profit; importance on online media; architecture vs. scenography at festivals; notoriety and gains of a brand present at the music festivals (comparison between Portugal, the rest of the world and the future) among other themes.
To the scientific presentations already annouced (from ISCTE and Católica Business School) we are adding now the approach of the model Transmedia Music Canvas: Music Storytelling, by the CEO ofMooh!, Maria Manuel.
At the Documentaries section, 3 episodes of the documental webserie about Barcelos city sonic movements of the last two decades called "A Scene called Barcelos" (Red Bull Portugal) that premiered at the festival Milhões de Festa this year.
The closing night of Talkfest will have concerts at Musicbox in Lisbon, with the presence of Tó Trips and Pista that will join the already confirmed Benjamim. It is a night to celebrate the new Portuguese music that had already bands such as Paus, CapitãoFausto, D'Alva and Brass Wires Orchestra.
