Talkfest'17: 28 speakers and entities that complete the program of the event; night sessions


Fresh news, today we announce the latest national and international participants for the different sections of the event, more than 90 program items make this year’s Talkfest, with a record amount of speakers, the largest yet. The themes up for discussion aim to reflect all different aspects of the industry - promoters, autarchies, artists, researchers, media, brands and service providers. Enrique Helguera de la Villa (music critic and journalist Radio 3), is another confirmed international speaker. He will give a masterclass at the end of the second day, about the synergies that can be created at an Iberian level in the field of music festivals and thus create competitive solutions comparing to other European festivals. In the conferences we announce speakers of different technical areas and professional roles: António Nunes (president Observatório Segurança, Criminalidade Organizada e Território); Miguel Carretas (general director Audiogest); Angelo Lourenço (sound technician Paus / Linda Martini); Luís Salgueiro (director Rfm Somnii / Genius y Meios); Rita Morgado (communication director Bons Sons); Ricardo Freitas (marketing dir. Monte Verde Festival); Hugo Reis (artistic director Fahr 0213); the artists Dynamic Duo (Dj Cruzfader + Stikup);Salvador Sobral; Mimicat; emmy Curl and the influencers Peperan; Cátia Tomé (According to Panda); José Silva (Wide Future) and Sofia Fernandes (Às 9 no meu blog). As moderators we'll have: Mário Rui Vieira (journalist Blitz) and Luís Talete (host Rádio Meo Music) The professional presentations, cover different themes: S.P.O.T. - The importance of the food court in the festival – case study of NOS Primavera Sound by Ana Neto and Joana Lima (directors); Next 360 - the new streaming for events By Michael Pimenta (COO); SGS - Sustainability at music festivals: case study of Portugal by Cláudia Rocha (Technical Manager) and GDA - collective management of related rights and author of artists By Pedro Oliveira (general director). The seminars will receive key themes on evolution and support for festival promoters:Media buying - how to find the right place to reach the target audience of an event by Deolinda Sousa (brand media & digital Manager Vodafone) and Organization of applications for community funds By Paulo Pereira (director Neomarca). In the documentaries section we’ll host the premiere of The Island of Freedom, a Buzz TV documentary that covered the latest edition of the Sziget, having in scope Portuguese bands that played there and Portuguese festival-goers, and we’ll also be screening Guitarras ao Alto, in which two national guitarists are the kings of the stage and change positions without ever giving in to silence. The Night Sessions will take place at Musicbox (Throes + The Shine - the Eurosonic surprise, Maze and Ditch Days) on the 10th March and at the Stairway Club on the 9th March (punk will be king with the screening of the documentary Enterrado na Loucura and presentation of new album of Patrulha do Purgatório). Next week, the themes of the conferences, the distribution of speakers and moderators and the event’s schedule will be announced.

The 6th edition of Talkfest - International Music Festivals Forum will take place in Lisbon (9th and 10th March) at the Museum of Communications (Museu das Comunicações) and in Barcelona (Macba, 16thMarch). This year's Talkfest will include activities such as Conferences (main section); Presentations (Scientific and Professional); Seminars; a Job fair and Documentaries. One of the goals for this edition is to create more technical tools for professionals and enhance their networking as well as to create more convenience to visitors. The Portuguese Government considers talkfest an event of cultural interest.
