Iberian Festival Awards: first live acts and jury members, 7 days to vote and other news


Two months before the 3rd edition of Iberian Festival Awards, which will happen on March 15, 2018, at Fórum Lisboa (Lisbon), the voting phase of the categories decided by the public ends on January 17 - being then indicated the TOP10 of these categories. Today the first names of jury panel that will decide the other categories; live performances and sponsored categories will be revealed.


The first jury members, who will analyze the nominees in the categories decided by them, come from Portugal, Spain and international context, having a transversal experience associated with music and the analysis or production of music festivals:

- Albert Salmerón (ES - president APM - Asociación Promotores Musicales )

- Ami Bondia (ES - journalist TVE)

- Ana Teresa Ventura (PT - director M de Música)

- Antía Bendaña (ES - corporate Marketing & Events Prisa Notícias)

- Brita Young (INT - producer Glastonbury Festival)

- Miguel Bica (PT - producer cultural Gerador)

- Pedro Paulos (PT - director Brandos Costumes)

- Stefan Reichamnn (INT - director Haldern Pop Festival)

Whales and Madrepaz are the first confirmed bands to perform at the gala - both coming from the new Portuguese music scene, being highlighted in radios and by the audience that follows them. These bands will be joined by: the winner of the Festival Termómetro (which has it’s final next Saturday in Lisbon) and two finalists of the category Best Live Performance (one from Portugal and another from Spain).

Some categories of the Iberian Festival Awards are sponsored, in which yours directors will deliver the prize to the national and Iberian winners: Best Medium Sized Festival - Polishows; Best Cultural Programme - Gerador; Best Service Provider - Flamingo Boémio; Best Use of Technology - Embly and Best Live International Performance (PT/ES) - Antena 3.


These awards serve to recognize, support and reward: music festivals; cultural festivals (e.g. cinema, theater, gastronomy); media partners; musical artists and companies that have served or become active in festivals throughout 2017.


The spectrum of this edition is bigger serving the Portuguese and Spanish market but also for the Hispanic and Lusophone context. There are 22 categories in competition, plus the Excellence Award, in a gala that will have live broadcast (for the first time).


Iberian Festival Awards are the only Iberian recognition dedicated to festivals, being an important reference with the evolution of the sector. This event is dedicated to promoting, valuing and celebrating all professionals, partners and artists responsible for its development, growth and improvement.
