The jury panel of the Iberian Festival Awards comprises individuals (representing Portugal, Spain, and international perspectives) who have demonstrated unwavering commitment and expertise in the dynamic festival industry over the years. Among them are musicians, promoters, technicians, and service providers – each possessing a wealth of knowledge and skills. Their collective expertise equips them to meticulously assess and recognize the festivals that have made noteworthy contributions in the preceding year (2023).

Ana Cortez das Neves | Senior Engineer Environment | Waste Management Expert |  PT

Having a Bachelor’s degree and a Master's in Environmental Engineering from NOVA School of Science and Technology, she has over 10 years' experience in waste management and innovative projects in the field of sustainability. She has worked in consultancy and project management at events such as Rock in Rio, NOS Alive, Super Bock Super Rock and the Volvo Ocean Race, ensuring applications for the Green Deal, carbon offsetting and certification of best practices in the field of Circular Economy and Sustainability. Currently Operations Manager at Sociedade Ponto Verde, she also worked at Electrão, both organisations of which are responsible for managing urban waste in the packaging and electrical and electronic areas.

Ana Teresa Ventura | Journalist | M de Música | PT

With a degree in Sciences of Communication, Ana Ventura is a journalist who began her career in the BLITZ newspaper newsroom. Author of the programme M de Música, she has collaborated with SIC Radical and the streaming platform HBO, as well as signing the autobiographies of Xutos & Pontapés and Magazino. In 2023, she published her fourth book, "Uma Página da História", the first biography of the band Da Weasel.

35 years plus in the industry from local artist management in 80s, record label distribution in the 90s (Sub Pop, City Slang, Crammed, Lookout, Epitaph, Crypt, etc) joined Iguapop live concerts promoting company in 90s, merging into Gamerco in Barcelona in the 2ks and LN Spain since 2006. He is PR, Talent & amp; export for Live Nation Madrid, Head of The Spanish Wave Showcase export programme, Director at Andalucía Music Forum, Dcodelab in Dcode festival, Kid Nation project and lecturer at LN Live Music Master at UCM.

Daniel Pires | Maus Hábitos | PT

Started his artistic activities in photography, an area in which he holds various formations. Founder of Maus Hábitos – Espaço de Intervenção Cultural, in 2001, and of Saco Azul Associação Cultural, in 2002. He has been culturally and artistically managing the Maus Hábitos space for 18 years. In parallel, he offers photography training in Portugal and Brazil, having held numerous national and international exhibitions. He mentored the Pinacoteca project, leading to ARCO in 2006, 2007 and 2008. In 2008 he was invited to join the Board of ADDICT. In 2012, he completed his Masters in Image Design at FBAUP, as well as taking over the direction and coordination of the “On Off Lab de Criatividade Urbana” in Guimarães CEC 2012. In 2014 he took over the direction of Coliseu do Porto where he remains until 2022. Member of the Municipal Council of Culture in Porto and vice-president of the association Circuito Live.

Javier Medina | Ticketswap | ES

With a background in music production, graphic design, and DJing, Javier Medina is a well-known figure in the artistic and cultural Barcelona scene. Among various activities, he led an art gallery project for two years, and co-founded the label “Classroom Records” which includes Honey Dijon within the artists of its catalog. In the last decade, he helped many electronic music artists build their careers while working as a booker and brand manager for artist management agencies like Mobilee, De Light Management, and Miracle MGMT. He had the great honor to work closely with artists such as Radio Slave, Anika Kunst, Rodriguez Junior, Squire, and Coyu, just to name a few. After the struggles of the pandemic, Javier has found a new exciting professional path in the ticketing industry by joining the Dutch company TicketSwap as a Partnerships Manager for the Spanish market.

Joanne Knowles | The Event Production Show | INT

Joanne is Event Director for the UK’s longest running live events exhibition, the Event Production Show. After achieving a bachelor’s degree in Event and Business Management at APM College Australia, Joanne left her coastal life behind to manage and run events for the some of the biggest organisations in the UK’s event sector. Before running EPS for Mash Media, Joanne was Show Manager at Closer Still Media, where she worked on Data Centre World, which was the largest independent event for the data centre industry in the world.  She now focuses all of her attention on creating experiences for those who go on to create them for others. Working with suppliers and organisers during the pandemic and on its turbulent crawl out, Joanne and the team at EPS have created an exhibition that continues to be the information and resource hub for the festival and live event industry within the UK.

Nuno Abreu | Theatro Circo | PT

He has a degree in Philosophy and a Master's in African Studies, both from the Faculty of Letters of the University of Porto. He is currently programming and press advisor at Theatro Circo de Braga and is responsible for the premieres on national soil of artists such as Rosalia, Nathy Peluso, Silvana Estrada, Bad Gyal or Sofiane Pamart. He won the Young Creators Prize of the Portuguese Club of Arts and Ideas in the area of Music in 2014 with the Long Way To Alaska project, and the Young Creators Prize of the Youth Foundation in the area of Literature in 2019 with the work “O Deserto”, notebook of travel about Western Sahara camps in Algeria. He was chosen to represent the Portuguese entourage at the IX Biennial of Young Creators of the CPLP, in Luanda, in the area of Literature, in 2019. He wrote articles for media such as the newspaper Público and Jornal de Letras.
