The 9th edition of Talkfest - International Music Festivals Forum will take place entirely in Lisboa, in parallel and in partnership with BTL - Bolsa de Turismo de Lisboa (biggest Tourism fair in Portugal), between March 11 and 15, 2020. Today we announce the first news of the programme and the beggining of the applications for the Iberian Festival Awards.
TALKFEST
Talkfest will have in 2020 more days and the third will be the main event with a programme of over 100 speakers from 8am to 8.30pm simultaneously in 6 rooms/auditoriums at the Meeting Center FIL - a venue we return after 2016 edition which recorded that year a sold out day for the first time.
The first confirmed speakers are:

It will then be an edition with a higher percentage of international speakers, namely from Spain. In addition to Conferences, Pitchs, Workshops, Vox Expert, Documentaries or Scientific Presentations there will be a new private meeting room “1 to 1 Meetings” only scheduled by future delegate application.
IBERIAN FESTIVAL AWARDS
The penultimate day (Saturday) is exclusively marked by the Iberian Festival Awards - the only awards that value the festivals area (from different artistic areas) and their performers at the Iberian level. This will consist of a gala that will serve to make known the Iberian and national winners of 24 categories plus 1 excellence award and will feature 6 live acts in the Grande Auditório of FIL and which will broadcast TV, radio and online. The gala and its afterparty will again have a open bar to all the presents.
The first Live Act confirmed it's from Museless (ES) - the breakthrough electronic artist who went through Sónar, Primavera Sound and SXSW this year. Applications for the 5th edition of these awards will follow a new regulation aimed at differentiating and validating the work done by promoters, partners, service providers, media partners, or artists at festivals throughout 2019: the process is thus simplified and also gives to photographers and professional events the opportunity to apply.
About the categories: there are two new ones - "Best PRO event" and "Best Festival Photo", responding to requests from the latest editions; “Best Communication & Marketing Strategy” and “Best Academic & Youth Festival” categories with a re-definition of their scope. Some categories will have prize money available from Aporfest (Best Small Festival category) and brands associated with the event. Applications are available until November 22 (don´t leave it to the last days)!
BTL FESTIVALS
From March 11th to 15th will be at BTL (professional fair with 75.000 attendees) with an area exclusively dedicated to Music Festivals and their stakeholders (e.g. festivals, sponsors, brands, service providers, municipalities) - for the first time. This area will have 20 stands around a stage with many programming points in an action triggered by APORFEST.
