The 11th edition of TALKFEST will take place on March 11 and 17, 2023, in two cities: Lisbon and Maia. After the last edition, a special 10th anniversary, the event enters a new stage of consolidation of its brand (with a new image and new signature), with a new programming area in the Main Event (Women in Music Industry - which will serve to discuss the female role in the festival ecosystem and award a personality) and with a new Host City for the Iberian Festival Awards gala, delivered for the first time to the city of Maia.
Applications for the Iberian Festival Awards are open and run until December 5th. Due to the end of the pandemic issue, there are several returns in the categories to be awarded and there is also a new category “Contribution to Equality”. There will be 23 categories with Iberian and national winners and 2 Excellence Awards (for entity and personality of the year). After Lisbon, Vigo and Barcelona, the gala will take place in a new city.
TALKFEST, born in 2012, is currently organized by APORFEST – Associação Portuguesa Festivais de Música and brings music festivals up for debate, being the only Iberian event dedicated exclusively to this sector. It will include for the 11th edition:
a) Main Event ::: March 17 [Lisbon, Dia – Hotel Meliã Aeroporto (Conferences, Women in Music Industry, Pitch Stage, Workshops, Research, Docs, 1-to-1 Meetings and Area Lounge & Networking)];
b) Concerts ::: March 17 [Lisbon, Night – Estúdio Time Out];
c) Iberian Festival Awards ::: March 11 [Maia, Night – Grande Auditório of Fórum da Maia (gala, live acts, open bar, Area Lounge & Networking)].
This edition will have 5 main focuses: short-medium term financial sustainability of festivals; implementation of new technologies; accessibility and equality between professionals and the general public; role of women in the festivals sector and strengthening of strategic synergies between Portugal and Spain.
